Calogero Palermo

First clarinet at the prestigious Royal Concertgebouw Orchestra of Amsterdam. Very young, he already played this role in the Orchestra of the V. Bellini Theater of Catania (1993-1996), later in the Orchestra of the Teatro dell'Opera di Roma (1997-2008, 2012-2015) and in the Orchester National de France (2008 -2011). Winner of the International Jeunesses Musicales Competition in Bucharest and many other awards in the most important Italian clarinet competitions, he has an intense concert activity that has led him to perform in various countries of Europe, Asia, Africa and America, collaborating with prestigious directors as: Kurt Masur, Mariss Jansons, Valery Gergiev, Sir Colin Davis, Yuri Temirkanov, Daniele Gatti, Herbert Blomstedt, John Eliot Gardiner, Daniel Harding, Andris Nelsons,Iván Fischer, Neeme Järvi, Charles Dutoit and Riccardo Muti. He recorded for the B.M.G. Ricordi, Reverend Sonori, Foné, Accord for music-Rome, Trio Zecchini, Wicky Edition, Cristal Records, Gutman Records, Brilliant Classics, BIS Record and A.I.C. Many of his performances have been broadcast by various radio and television broadcasters: RAI, Vatican Radio, Romanian National Television, Radio Cl · sica RNE, Radio France, RadioTre, France Musique, RaiTrade and NPO Radio 4. Among the authors who created music dedicated to him, Luis Bacalov, Renato Chiesa, Claudio Cimpanelli, Antonio Fraioli and Nunzio Ortolano. Alongside the concert activity, the didactic activity involved him in numerous courses of High Specialization and Master Classes both in Italy and abroad: Mozarteum Salzburg, CRR de Paris, University of Gothenburg, Conservatoire de Lyon, Tokyo University of the Arts, Malm Academy of Music, Conservatories Liceu de Barcelona, ​​IMEP Institut Supérieur de Musique et de Pédagogie de Namur. He is the author of the didactic text Soli d'orchestra for clarinet with piano accompaniment. He is regularly invited to the juries of the most important international clarinet competitions. Calogero Palermo plays with clarinet Buffet Crampon model RC Prestige.
